The artist Mohamed Ramadan brought the controversy back to the forefront, after he hinted in the past few hours at the possibility of his return to Ramadan drama in the Ramadan 2026 season, without explicitly revealing the details of his upcoming work, which opened the door to questions and speculations among his fans.
Mohamed Ramadan sparked widespread reaction after posting a new picture of himself on his official Facebook account, commenting on it with a brief sentence: “Do you want a series?” This phrase was considered by many to be a direct indication that he is preparing for a new drama, despite the absence of any official announcement so far.
Prior to that, Ramadan had shared a video clip while he was outside Egypt, in which he appeared promoting one of the international fashion houses, and wrote a comment that sparked controversy: “My next series,” which reinforced doubts about his readiness to return to the small screen, especially with the approaching countdown to the Ramadan 2026 season.
Despite Mohamed Ramadan not having made a final decision about participating in next Ramadan, his fans reacted strongly to his hints, with many expressing their enthusiasm for any new work he presents, while a large segment called for the return of the character Jaafar Al-Umda in a second part of the series that achieved remarkable success.
In recent days, news has spread about the production of the Jaafar Al-Umda 2 series, especially after some pages circulated posters attributed to the work and linked them to the Ramadan series map, which sparked controversy on social media.
So far, there has been no official confirmation from Mohamed Ramadan or director Mohamed Sami regarding the existence of a second part to the series, especially with the announcement of Mohamed Sami’s absence from the Ramadan 2026 season, which makes everything that has been circulated merely inaccurate speculation.
It is worth mentioning that the series Jaafar Al-Omda formed a special artistic case during its broadcast in Ramadan 2023, as it succeeded in attracting millions of viewers through a social plot full of conflicts within the Sayeda Zeinab neighborhood, with the participation of a selection of stars, including: Hala Sedki, Zeina, Iman Al-Assi, Mai Kassab, and Menna Fadali, which raised the ceiling of expectations for any new drama work presented by Mohamed Ramadan later.
